  • Beware about unexpected cuts in your credit line.

  • I was just about to go on a trip and wanted to make sure that I had enough credit available on my card to pay for my expenses. I have a Delta Skymiles American Express card. Well, several days after making a substantial payment on my card, my credit line was reduced. This was not the first time that this happened. They said they based it on my overall debt load. However, since my payments have been paid on time, they agreed to increase my credit line an additional $500 for a single purchase. So, it's sometimes it's risky business paying off more than the minimum payment. The only reason why I like to use this card is for the miles I earn. However, after this, I am not sure that I would recommend this card unless you can pay it off every month and/or have another credit card in good standing as backup.
